For the last 11 years Melissa Hernandez has worked as a journalism adviser in the district. Melissa has also advised video productions. She is currently advising journalism and yearbook at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy. Melissa is also the co-owner of a trade industry publication. She has had her writing and photography published internationally.

When not working, Melissa enjoys fishing and traveling.
